Amy Davis - Owner/ Instructor
Amy has been dancing for over 30 years, teaching for 22 years, and has just completed her 18th dance recital. She is a graduate of Frostburg State University with a B.S. in Dance and Social Science with a minor in Psychology. Amy has completed her Masters of Education and hopes to achieve a Doctorate degree in Leadership. Davis has particpated in workshops with Nuvo, The Pulse, DanceMakers, Martha Graham Intensive, Al Gilbert, Nai-Ni Chen, Body Mind Centering, Philadanco, LA Dance Force, ACDF, Dena Rizzo, Tommy Alexander, Dance Masters, Showstoppers, and Broadway Dance Center as well as performing in PA, MD, NE, WV, VA, FLA, HI, OH, NC, and Wash. DC. She was a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Finalist in dance, was named Distinguished Woman of theYear in 2000, Women Making A Difference for Women Award 2007 and one of the Top Twenty Fascinating People of Allegany County 2007. She has had stories in Dance Teacher Magazine, Dance Studio Life Magazine and Dance Magazine. She has had titleholders for Miss Cumberland, America's Miss, Miss Cumberland Outstanding Teen, Miss Washington County Outstanding Teen, Miss Pride of the Potomac Outstanding Teen, Miss Francis Scott Key Outstanding Teen, Miss Frostburg, National American Miss pageants and conducted her own scholarship pageant Miss Frostburg Dance and Miss Frostburg Dance Outstanding Teen. She has since joined the Board of Directors for the Miss Maryland Pageant and turned her local pageant over. Amy is a member of both PDTA and DMA, and continues to study the art form of dance to better herself and her studio. Amy has had the honor of appearing as a guest artist, Master Teacher and Judge in MD, PA, and FLA. She is also an adjunct teacher in the Dance Department of FSU. Her students have acquired numerous awards in dance, scholastics, and pageants at local, regional, state , and national levels. Students of Ms. Griffith have performed and competed in PA, MD, OH, VA, SC, Ireland, Aloha Bowl, Boscovs Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, National Cherry Blossom Parade and St. Patricks Day Parade in Ireland. She has had several students go on to get degrees in dance is thrilled to have made an impact on so many young people.
Nicolette Kay Brehm - Instructor
Nicolette Brehm is a 2007 graduate from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Dance. A scholar of Dance for 16 years, Nicolette studied with Frostburg Dance Academy for 15 years and was an instructor for Footprints-Blizzard Dance Studio for two years. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip Hop, and as an instructor specializes in Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Bailey has had the opportunity to attend numerous workshops, conventions and master class with artists such as Tommy Alexander, Dena Rizzo, Zondaflex, Nick Lazzarini, Frank Hatchet, Jeff Schade, Incidents Physical Theater and many more. She has had the fortune to compete and perform in Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Las Vegas. Nicki has participated in the National Cherry Blossom Parade, the Nutcracker with the International Ballet Theater, and original choreography with Dena Rizzo and Tommy Alexander, and numerous performances and competitions. She has received a multitude of awards in dance, scholastics and pageantry including Platinum for her Hip Hop solo at Showstoppers and overall Jazz Award for Miss Dance 2006. Nicki recently became a member of Dance Masters of America Chapter 17. Brehm had the honor of being crowned the first Miss Frostburg Dance in 2008 and went on to win the non-finalist talent award at Miss Maryland. She also held the title of Miss Cumberland 2009 and won the non-finalist talent award at Miss Maryland for her tap dance to Smooth Criminal. She is also part of the adjunct faculty at FSU.
